My name is Rivkah Cooper. I am honored to accept the role of the 14th President of Hadassah-Israel.
Hadassah has been part of my life for over 40 years. In Orlando, Florida I was President of a Young Women's Group. We were strong and committed to raising money for Hadassah Hospitals in Israel. I was part of the Young Leaders Conference at Hadassah offices in New York and the Sun Co-Op Leadership training. I attended Conferences in Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and New York. At the same time, I volunteered at the Jewish Federation with the Community Relations Council.
In 2002 my husband, Sruly of 48 years, and I made Aliyah on the first Nefesh B’Nefesh flight. Our son was already living in Israel and it was the right decision for us and our last “Big Adventure!” We chose Modi’in as our home.
Shortly after Aliyah, I was asked to join a group of 3 women to open an English Speaking Chapter in Modiin. And that began the history of the Levonah Chapter. I became a Co-President along with my dear friend and the success of the Chapter continues today.
I have always loved being part of Hadassah and Hadassah-Israel and the projects we stand for both at the hospitals and in the community.
