ERASE ALS - TOGETHER WE CAN!

Levonah Chapter, Hadassah-Israel completed the month of February with a fantastic Chinese Auction which raised over 30,000^NIS for Research at Hadassah Medical Center in search of a cure for ALS.

Rose Scharlat and Ellen Shemesh co-chaired the event with their amazing committee, Lori Abrams, Bonnie Bachenheimer, Zenia Cohen, Sue Hausdorff, Rita Katz, Marcia Primes, Janice Waldman, and Barbara Wirtschafter. The auction, our first in-person fundraising event in over two years, come to fruition in fewer than three months. MOH guidelines were followed, including the wearing of masks. Also according to MOH regulations, no food was served.

Rose and Ellen welcomed everyone to the Auction. Zenia Cohen, co-president of Levonah Chapter, Hadassah-Israel thanked Rose and Ellen for all their hard work and presented them with a small token of appreciation. Marcia Primes called the winners of the prizes.

Sandy Wine, our chapter treasurer, took care of the finances. There were many others who helped prior to and during the evening of the auction, by setting up the room and guiding volunteers. Aaron Israel read Psalm 20 for the people of Ukraine. Gary Scharlat, Yechiel Shemesh and Ariel Goldstein assisted during the day and continued to help throughout the auction.

There were over fifty items to be bid on, along with six Grand Prizes and many door prizes. The room was filled with greetings, laughter, camaraderie and winners galore.

The six grand prizes and their winners were:

2. 1000^NIS for Eyeglasses - Rifke Sabo
3. Two nights at Tzafat B&B - Naomi Henoch
4. Diamond Necklace - Evi Reznick
5. Two nights at a Caesar Premier Hotel - Lori Abrams
6. 5-Day Mano Cruise to Cyprus and Rhodes - Shulamit Slotki
